Privacy Policy

The short version: StayMinimal does not collect, store or share any of your personal data. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising. What you set up in the app stays on your iPhone.

This policy explains how the StayMinimal iPhone app and its widgets (“StayMinimal”, “we”, “us”) handle information. It applies to the app and to this website.

Information we collect

None. StayMinimal has no servers that receive your data. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, app usage, device identifiers or any other personal information. On the App Store this appears as “Data Not Collected”.

What stays on your iPhone

To work, the app keeps a few things in its own storage on your device. They never leave your phone and we cannot see them:

Your settings: modes, session lengths, sound mixes, bedtime and appearance.
Your focus history: when sessions started and ended, used for your stats and streaks.
The start date of your free trial, kept in the iPhone Keychain so the trial is not restarted by reinstalling. It contains no personal information.

Deleting the app removes its data from your iPhone, except the trial start date in the Keychain.

Screen Time

StayMinimal uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) to pause apps and websites you choose. Apple shows you the list of apps privately and gives StayMinimal only anonymous tokens for your choices, so we never learn which apps you use or how long you use them. The “before and after” screen time comparison is drawn by Apple's Screen Time system on your device; the app can display it but cannot read the numbers.

Permissions the app may ask for

Screen Time: to pause the apps and websites you pick.
Notifications: to tell you when a session ends and for reminders you choose. These are created on your iPhone; nothing is sent to us.
Camera, microphone and adding to Photos: only if you use the Camera in the Minimal home widget. Photos and videos go straight into your Photos library. StayMinimal does not keep, upload or look at them.
Adding to Photos: also used to save the plain wallpaper offered in the app.

The Phone row in the Minimal widget opens Apple's contact picker. It runs outside the app, so StayMinimal has no access to your contacts; only the number you tap is used to place the call.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details or Apple ID. The app only checks with Apple, on your device, whether a purchase is active.

Sharing your progress

If you choose to share a progress card, you decide where it goes. The card includes a short invite link with a random code. When someone downloads StayMinimal from that link, Apple's App Store reports only an anonymous total count of downloads per code to us. No personal information is involved.

Siri, widgets and Live Activities

Siri requests, widgets, Control Center controls and Live Activities are handled by iOS on your device. Siri requests are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

This website

stayminimal.app uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability, as any website host does.

Children

StayMinimal collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Emails you send us

If you email support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the date above. If we ever wanted to collect data, we would ask for your permission first.
